Memorial Day in The Woodlands

Celebrate Memorial Day weekend with free concerts, fireworks presented by Wells Fargo, food, fun, strolling entertainers and more as The Woodlands Convention & Visitors Bureau hosts “Memorial Day in The Woodlands,” May 25 – 26, 2013, from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. at Waterway Square.
On Saturday, May 25, bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy the Country & Variety sounds of Leannasaurus Rex from 6 p.m. – 7:20 pm followed by the classic rock sounds of The Rock-a-Fellas from 7:40 p.m. – 9 p.m. Immediately following the concert, enjoy a fantastic fireworks display presented by Wells Fargo, weather permitting.
The fun continues on Sunday with the country/alternative band Josh Fuller and Dirt & Diesel taking the stage from 6 p.m. – 7:20 pm. Nobody’s Fool, with Kelley Peters, will close out the night playing a variety of sounds from 7:40 p.m. - 9 p.m. Once again, the night sky will light up with a dazzling fireworks display as the music ends.
Memorial Day in The Woodlands is free and open to the public thanks to Wells Fargo, The Woodlands Development Company, The Woodlands Resort & Conference Center, Kyle Sherburne – State Farm Insurance, Munday Chevrolet, Wright’s Printing, Kroger, Bud Light and Xfinity.
Paid covered parking is available at the 24 Waterway Parking Garage (located at corner of Fountain Plaza & Lake Robbins Drive), the Waterway Square Parking Garage (between Fountain Plaza and Woodloch Court) and the surface parking lot along the corner of Waterway Avenue and Timberloch Place. “Memorial Day” attendees will also find limited, free curbside parking along Lake Robbins Drive, Waterway Avenue, Waterway Square Place, and Timberloch Place.

From the banks of the Vltava River to the grandeur of a Russian palace to the rain-drenched sidewalks of Central Park, the spring repertory program is a fantastic voyage led by the grand masters of choreography. Ji?í Kylián's Sinfonietta is an exuberant tribute to the Czech choreographer's homeland. Ballet Imperial is George Balanchine's homage to St. Petersburg, to the choreographer Marius Petipa, who he referred to as "the father of classic ballet," and to Russia's greatest composer, Peter Tchaikovsky. The Concert is famed American choreographer Jerome Robbins's laugh-out-loud funny reflection on the active imaginations of New York City concert goers.
Dinos Alive

Moody Gardens will be transformed into a prehistoric stomping ground with more than 20 lifelike animatronic dinosaurs, including a full-size Tyrannosaurus Rex, a baby T-rex and its nest, a Triceratops and a Stegosaurus, just to name a few. The exhibit Dinos Alive! takes guests on a Jurassic adventure as they become part of a rescue team sent back in time to search for a missing plane and its crew. The team will wander through curving paths lined with tropical foliage, discover full-grown and baby dinosaurs and gather clues to assist in the search mission.

Kids Sewing Camp

Week 1 Session begins June 10th to 13th from 1pm to 4pm.
We will go over sewing machine basics and make a simple bag, a pillow case and pajama pants within our four day camp!
Kids must be 10 or going into 4th grade to age 17. Only 6 students allowed per week.

TUTS Humphreys School returns to Miller with another Disney Jr. favorite.
It’s the first day after winter break at East High. The Jocks, Brainiacs, Thespians and Skater Dudes find their cliques, recount their vacations, and look forward to the new year. Basketball team captain and resident jock Troy discovers that the girl he met on his ski trip, Gabriella, has just enrolled at East High. They cause an upheaval when they decide to audition for the high school musical.
This is a ticketed event for the covered seating area. Free tickets are available (4 per person over age 16 while they last) at the Miller Outdoor Theatre box office the day of the performance between the hours of 10:30am-1pm. If tickets remain at 1pm, the box office will re-open one hour before show time to distribute the remaining tickets. As always, open seating on the hill.
